Relief When Needed

Those that are vulnerable and disadvantaged are a part of our community. They are our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends and they can be ourselves.

This isn’t a matter or solution that rests solely on the government. There is limited social welfare, limited resources withing the care industry. It is our challenge, for us to help solve, and one where we see the benefit.
We are all much better off being a part of our community, being better connected and reflecting respect and appreciation. We all need help and the benefit of getting the help we need, when we need it is far greater than the cost of helping others when it’s easy and convenient.

What is Support through Community Connection?

Some of the support that’s needed day-to-day can be provided by others in the community. It can be a hand with:

  • child minding
  • pet sitting
  • household chores such as cleaning, washing or ironing
  • meals or a hand cooking
  • gardening or mowing
  • shopping
  • help with travel
  • and many more things that don’t require higher skills

Providing this assistance from within the community means a budget can be stretched much further on more skilled help or on other needs.

The beauty is we all need a hand at times, whether we are disadvantaged or not.

This approach means everyone is a part of their same neighbourhood, the same community. Asking for a hand, “paying” for it through providing others with help, is something we can all do.  Those supported by the Mind For Me Foundation needn’t feel they are any different, they aren’t distinguished from any others within the community yet can now have a way to draw on extra support and assistance without the cost and whilst maintaining complete pride in doing so.
